Neurotoxins
Neurotoxin injections, such as Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin®, are FDA-approved, non-surgical treatments designed to temporarily reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles.
Facial wrinkles develop over time due to repetitive muscle contractions associated with expressions such as smiling, frowning, and squinting. Neurotoxins temporarily relax these muscle, thereby allowing the overlying skin to appear smoother while preserving natural facial expressions.
Numerous areas can be treated including the forehead, between the eyebrows, the lateral corners of the eyes, lip lines, the chin, jawline and vertical bands in the neck.
Neurotoxin injections are performed in-office and typically take 10 to 15 minutes.
Initial results are noticeable within 3-5 days, with full effects in 10-14 days. Duration of results is typically around 3 months, with repeated injections required to maintain results.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are a non-surgical means of restoring volume, enhancing facial contours, and smoothing wrinkles. There are several different types of fillers tailored to address specific areas of facial aging and volume loss.
Common areas for treatment include: the midface and cheeks to resuspend descending fat pads and tissue, the nasolabial fold to soften the smile lines, the marionette lines to camouflage shadows extending from the mouth to the chin, the tear trough/under eye hollows to provide a rested appearance, the lips to enhance volume and lower face balance, the jawline and chin to define the lower face and improves facial harmony, and the temples for upper face lifting.
Dermal filler injections are performed in-office and typically take 30-45 minutes. A topical numbing cream may be used to minimize discomfort.
Results are immediate, but with the risk of minor swelling and bruising which typically resolves within a few days.
Biostimulators
Aging leads to a gradual decline in collagen and elastin production, resulting in volume loss, skin laxity, and fine lines. Biostimulators are advanced injectable treatments designed to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, restoring youthful contours and improving skin quality over time.
Unlike traditional dermal fillers, wherein the product injected provides immediate volume and correction, biostimulators create a reaction that leads the body to create its own collagen. These treatments are much more gradual and typically require a series of injections to restore lost volume, improve skin texture, and enhance dermal thickness. Products used include Sculptra® and hyperdilute Radiesse®.
Ideal candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity and volume loss and seek natural-looking results without overfilled or exaggerated effects.
The procedure typically takes 30-45 minutes in office and a topical anesthetic is used.
Microneedling
Microneedling is an in office procedure that uses small bore needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The body’s natural healing process boosts collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance. Microneedling can be used as part of a comprehensive program to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, combat skin roughness and dullness, and enhance the absorption of skincare products applied during the procedure.
Microneedling is performed after applying a topical numbing cream and typically takes 30-60 minutes.
Following the treatment, mild redness and sensitivity may occur, similar to a mild sunburn, but these effects typically subside within 24-48 hours.
A series of sessions may be recommended for optimal results.
